Summary of last time:
God loves us and wants us to be happy, so He gives us rules to help us make the kinds of choices that will in fact make us happy. There is a connection between happiness and holiness -- the choices that will help us become the best versions of ourselves are the same choices that will also bring us happiness. Our next class meeting will be Sunday, October 21.

Last time, we watched and discussed two brief Matthew Kelly videos: "Your Choices Matter" and "The Best Way to Live." Choices have consequences, and your choices determine who you become. The keys, then, are to choose what leads to being the best version of yourself, virtue, and self-control.

Last time:
It was great to see so many yesterday for our first class meeting. At that class:

• I made the claim that we live in a sick -- even insane -- culture, and we discussed many examples of the craziness, including self-contradictory and conflicting beliefs. I trust I made that point sufficiently, but we will continue to discuss these issues as they touch on future class topics.
• I also made the claim that the Catholic Faith is True, sane, balanced, makes sense of life, has integrity and coherence, and makes a life of freedom possible.
