P&C class update for May 3

Submitted by Suchi Myjak on

When will the next class meeting be?
I had originally scheduled it for May 10, but then realized that that is Mothers' Day. Please reply to let me know whether that class date will work. If not, we will push it out by another week to May 17.

Last time, we read and discussed Act 4, the last act of Robert & Emma. Thank you to Kayla, Max, and all the other students who have participated in dramatizing the play for our class!

In this act, "Final Choices," which takes place 10 years later, we learn that Emma's husband Jason has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is considering assisted suicide. A distraught Emma comes to her friend Robert, now an oncologist, for help.

If you missed the class and want to catch up:

  1. The (unlisted) recording is uploaded and ready to view. Please check your email for the link.
  2. The class handout was sent with the reminder on Saturday. Please let me know if you need it sent again.

Homework:
I had hoped to get to responding to some common questions about assisted suicide, but ran out of time. Please go to Frequently Asked Questions | Patients Rights Council and choose 4 or more responses to questions from euthanasia supporters to read. Which questions have you heard before?

Future class meetings and topics:
Important! Please reply to let me know whether May 10 will work for you or not.
May 10 - Pro-life Apologetics: Practical Strategies
May 17 - Possible wrap-up session / session for your questions

Blessings,
Suchi / Mrs. Myjak
