Class will be meeting next Sunday, March 13.
Last time, we started on Chapter 9: Celibacy & Religious Life. Since our time was short, we will finish up next time. Some key points covered so far:
- Celibacy in an exceptional calling from God.
- Just like marriage, celibacy is a vocation - a call from God -
- not merely a choice made by an individual.
- Celibacy for the Kingdom is a total self-donation to God and neighbor, showing the world what it means to love God with all your heart.
- While marriage acts as a sign that points to the "wedding feast" of heaven, the celibate life does so even more directly.
Quote to ponder:
“Young people know that their life has meaning to the extent that it becomes a gift for others.” – Pope John Paul II
