Class update for Nov 1

Submitted by Suchi Myjak on

Class will meet next Sunday, November 8.

Last time, we worked through the Introduction and first chapter of Theology of the Body for Teens. Key points:

  • God loves us and desires to have an intimate, personal relationship with each of us.
  • Our bodies teach us profound truths about the reason for our existence and our purpose in life.
  • Our bodies are, as Scripture says, "very good" as they come from the Creator's hand.
  • Theology means the study of God, and "Theology of the Body" means the study of God and the purpose of our existence, as discovered and revealed through our bodies.
  • God designed us for communion with Him and with each other.
  • Our bodies make visible the invisible mystery of God.
  • The reason for our existence is to be united in an eternal relationship of love with God in heaven.

At home reading assignment:

  1. "Digging Deeper: Who am I?" on pages 12-14 and
  2. "LIVE IT OUT: Living with Purpose" on p. 15.

Optional: Complete the Prayer & Journal Activity on p. 16. (Adoration is a great time for this.)

If you missed missed class or want to review:
Please read the Introduction, pp 1-3, and Chapter 1, pp 5-12, of the workbook.

Open Mic class:
Students had expressed an interest in an "open mic" class session at which a broader range of questions could be addressed. If you have a question, please email it or write me a note. I have small note papers in class.
